myfuroshiki advent calendar 11

* Day 11 *

One of the things I've really enjoyed about selling on line is getting to "meet" so many wonderful sellers. There's a great sense of community which really came out in the Coriandr Express promotion which we took part in earlier this year. Twenty sellers got together to promote each other for three days at a time. Here's a quick look at what the first five have in their Coriandr shops now.

See the animals!

Just noticed our set of four animal themed screenprinted furoshiki are featured on the front page of Coriandr today :) alongside fellow Coriandr ex-Expressites - Julie Mills Design and Blue Fish Handmade. I also particularly like this blue cow giclee print from Alexandra Ashby.

Coriandr Express furoshiki challenge

Life's been a bit busy the past couple of weeks so I've a bit of catching up to do on a challenge I set myself of doing a little fun furoshiki something for each VIP on the Coriandr Express. So far I've managed a sort of fish shaped wrap with a blue fish design furoshiki for Blue Fish Handmade (how easy was that!)

and a bird wrap for Julie Mills with all her beautiful bird designs.

And here for my latest offerings are a panda furoshiki as a pirate bandana for the bucaneering Pirate Pixie Crew (featuring one press-ganged son)

and for Mrs Toad Designs, the nearest amphibian I could find - a frog patterned furoshiki :)

Still pondering .. Dig The Earth, Kitty Ballistic, Creativesque and Nic's Knots....

All aboard and welcome to the Coriandr Express!

Coriandr is one of the newer online handmade marketplaces. It’s full of a great range of fabulous items from cards to crotcheted rings. With its clean, clear layout, it’s a lovely experience for both buyers and sellers, all of which is why we’re really pleased to be taking part in the Coriandr Express. You can read more about it on the Coriandr Express blog set up by the amazing Lynne of Pirate Pixie Crew. Basically, it’s a group of enthusiastic sellers who’ve got together to promote just some of the fantastic items available on Coriandr. Over the next few weeks 21 different sellers will be the VIP for a few days each and we’ll see more of their great work and get to know them better.

The first stop was Dig The Earth, with Kevin’s wonderful range of decorated mirrors and colourful cards. I bought some, which arrived beautifully presented and packaged and were every bit as good as they look in the pictures. All his cards are half price during May, so hurry along the platform and get some for yourself!

Our next VIP is blue fish handmade where Izabela’s love of fibres, alternative fashion, accessories inspired by a history, colours, textures shine through in her gorgeous range of crotcheted items. I particularly love this delicate crotchet flower necklace

Whilst these slippers look very cosy

And these are just amazing!

Izabela is offering a 10% discount and free shipping to readers of the Coriandr Express blog so why not take a look and find out more about her and her wonderful creations.

…. And if you’re inspired to buy a little gift, our blue fish furoshiki would be perfect to wrap it in!
