First fair of the year; first fair in Leeds

Only a week to go to our first fair of the year and our first craft fair in Leeds. Organised by the lovely Kirsten and Deborah from Made-it, there'll be a great range of quality crafts, all handmade and perfect for gifts or to treat yourself.

Come along for some bright and colourful spring furoshiki and learn some novel, eco-friendly ways to wrap your Easter eggs.

Spring is sprung!

After almost 3 months of on and off snow, the snowdrops are out and the sun is shining. And, here to celebrate, are some fresh, bright furoshiki. All available on Folksy and Coriandr.

New Year, new furoshiki

Having had a long and relaxing break, cocooned with family, we've got lots of ideas for new furoshiki. Here are a couple, both of which would be ideal for wrapping Valentine's presents.

I've been collecting pieces of silk and other luxurious fabrics and some beautiful trims to add to our "fabulous furoshiki" set. Here's a pink, cream, brown and gold silk furoshiki - simple but striking?


I've also raided my stash of fabrics to make this shabby chic gingham and floral hearts furoshiki and reusable felt gift tag. The hearts are made from Cath Kidston Rosali fabric which is just so pretty.

Both of these furoshiki are available in our Folksy and Coriandr shops.

Brighten your day

It's getting colder and darker here in the UK but, I hope, these flexible furoshiki bags should lift a few spirits (all available on Folksy):

What's a patchwork pocket furoshiki?

Well it's a new addition to the myfuroshiki range with which I'm quietly quite pleased and I hope everyone else will like too. It's:

• an unusual design - not a style of furoshiki that I've seen anywhere else before
• patchwork - a carefully chosen mix of fabric for a cheerful shabby chic look
• pockets - this is the neat bit! The patchwork is stitched across the diagonals onto a larger, calico backing so when tied it forms outer pockets on the furoshiki bag, handy for all the little bits and bobs of life
• green - not just in shading but also because it makes use of those pieces of fabric which are too small for a furoshiki but too nice to waste!
• multipurpose - mainly intended as a bag but like any furoshiki has multiple uses: gift wrap, cushion cover, small table cloth ...

This is one that I've just listed on Coriandr, with a few more to come on Coriandr and Folksy. What do you think?

A new arrival!

It's been a while but lots of happy things have been happening with the arrival of a new baby in the family ... and to mark the occasion, a new addition to the myfuroshiki range.

Of course gorgeous young George has to have a furoshiki baby bag :), a large furoshiki bag with smaller ones inside for all the essential accoutrements of babyhood


including a special "pocket furoshiki", perfect for wrapping small items together. Simply place items in each of the three pockets and knot each pocket,

and then turn the fourth lined pocket inside out so that all the pockets are contained neatly inside it. Simply knot the top, et voila, an ingenious little bag of treats!

Creativesque

I'm really glad to be taking part in the Coriandr Express as it's a wonderful way of finding out about some of the amazing variety of things on Coriandr. Having already got a resplendent collection of mirrors, funky knickers, silk scarves, aubergines and eye patches on board, we now have a new VIP, Creativesque.

Creativesque is the place to go for clear, delicately coloured art and papercrafts. Stacey-Ann creates perfect little pieces such as this ACEO where the flowers look like stained glass,


these tiny dragonfly envelopes


and, finally, these lovely heart bookmarks - bet you'll never guess what the upcycled element in them is - totally delicious!
